Session fee for individuals is $120. Session fee for family and couples is $140.

Session fees are due before the start of session and is payable by major credit cards, cash, or check (3.75% processing fee applies to all credit and debit card transactions).

Sliding scales are available for households that qualify.

This is a great and really normal question! First sessions are spent getting to know you, becoming familiar with the reason(s) you’re seeking counseling right now, and establishing what your goals are for the journey. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for what it’s like to work with me, and for the both of us to decide whether we’d be a good fit.

Yes, what you share with me during sessions will be held in strict confidentiality, with two exceptions:

  1. On occasion your information may be discussed with my supervisor, Gina Birkemeier, LPC. Our conversations are also confidential.
  2. State law and professional ethics does mandate that this confidentiality be broken under specific circumstances if what you share gives me legitimate reason to be concerned for the safety of a child, an elderly person, or yourself.

This is another common concern for those starting out with counseling. The answer is, that’s perfectly fine! While specific issues or symptoms are definitely helpful starting points, we can work together to identify problem areas and establish goals.

The short answer is, “it depends.” The longer answer is it’s recommended to start with meeting every week for at least six consecutive weeks. After this, I can provide a recommendation and you can make a decision about how frequently you’re able and willing to attend therapy from there.

Absolutely! Both in-person and virtual sessions are available for residents of Missouri.

While being a Christian is an important part of my personal life, I gladly serve clients from all walks of life and faith backgrounds.

When talking about healing and growth, I like to use the analogy of a new branch on an old tree. Like us, the tree itself can’t change where it found itself planted. It has roots that reach into the ground, like the stories that precede us. But a new sapling on its trunk doesn’t need the tree to move or change in order to grow. New growth is able to be experienced right where the tree is at.

You may not be able to change your past, your family, or your story up to this point. But healing is always available to you, and growth can happen from where you’re at today.
